Born in Bombay in 1948 Sri Parekh obtained the degree of Bachelor of Engineering (Chemical) from M.S. University, Baroda. He has admitted as a member of Calcutta Stock Exchange in 1982 and joined M/s. Stewart & Co. a leading Stock Broking House of Calcutta as a partner. He was elected as a member of the Committee (Governing Board) in 1998 and was unanimously elected as President of the Exchange in the same year. Shri Parekh has been inducted into the boards of several leading companies. He is also a member of several reputed social clubs of the city. His professional competence combined with exemplary image in the corporate world will stand the Stock Exchange in good stead.
