| Shri B.G. Daga Shri B.G. Daga (56 years)
holding a Master’s Degree in Commerce and Professional Qualifications of Company
Secretary and Banking had a long innings in the Reserve Bank of India before joining Unit
Trust of India in 1987. In Reserve Bank of
India he was mainly dealing with foreign investment,
FERA dilution etc. After spending
three years in the Department of Investments in UTI, he set up and headed the Department
of International Finance managing the offshore funds and other international business of
UTI. He also managed the domestic growth
schemes and Offshore Funds of UTI and looked after the secondary market operations and
Equity Research. Currently he is in charge of
Business Development and Marketing. He was a
member of the team of Consultant appointed by ADB to study securities market development
of Indonesia. He has been closely associated
with the setting up of UTI’ s joint venture Asset Management Companies in Srilanka
and Egypt. He has participated inm several
NRI/foreign investor conferences/meetings. He
has considerable experience in valuation of equities, fund management and offshore fund
structuring and management. He was a member
of the Expert Committee on MutualFunds set up by SEBI to look into the accounting
standards and policies of mutual funds norms and method of computation of NAV etc. as well
as that of the Derivative Committee. He is a
member of Index Policy Committee of Index Services and Products Ltd. He was also a member of the Committee appointed
by SEBI on the subjects of Negotiated
Deals. He is a visiting faculty of Bankers
Training College and UTI Institute of Capital Market.
He represents UTI on the Boards of Stock Holding Corporation of India Ltd. Infrastructure Leasing & Financial Services
Ltd. SBI Home Finance Ltd., Calcutta, ITC Bhadrachalam Paper Boards Ltd. Secunderabad.
Shri
Daga has been nominated by Securities And Exchange Board of India as a Public
Representative Director on the Committee of Calcutta Stock Exchange from the year 1998-99.
