Re: Suspension of Trading of GLOBAL TRUST BANK LTD.

Members are hereby informed that GLOBAL TRUST BANK LTD(GTB) has fixed 31/08/2004 as Record date for the Scheme of Amalgamation with Oriental Bank of Commerce(OBC) .

OBC has informed that as per scheme of amalgamation, aggregate amount representing the value of the assets determined as readily realisable assets of erstwhile GTB shall be credited to the Asset Account.The credit balance of the Asset Account shall be appropriated to the extent required to meet the liabilities of erstwhile GTB as detailed in the scheme. Surplus, if any shall be distributed pro-rata amongst the ordinary share holders of the GTB after the expiry of 12 years from the prescribed date or such earlier period as the Central Govt. after consulting the RBI may specify for this purpose.

In view of the above the equity shares of GLOBAL TRUST BANK LTD (Scrip Code: 37053 & 10037053), will be suspend from trading with effect from 27/08/2004 both in the Demat Rolling Settlement and Physical Trade for Trade (Odd-Lot) settlement.
