Born in 1949, Dr. Bhaskar Banerjee has a brilliant academic career. He is a Chartered Accountant and a Cost Accountant. He holds the rare distinction of obtaining ‘first rank’ on an All India basis both in the Intermediate and Final examinations of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India and Institute of Cost & Works Accountants of India and first rank on a world wide basis in the examination of the Institute of Cost and Management Accountants of U.K. He was awarded the Ph.D. degree by Benaras Hindu University in 1998.

Dr. Bhaskar Banerjee is the President of the Bengal Chamber of Commerce. He has also adorned several distinguished positions like Member Board of Examiners, Calcutta University. President, Calcutta Management Association, Central Council Member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India, President, Chartered Institute of Management Accountants during his outstanding career. He is at present Senior Managing Director, Duncans Industries Limited and was previously a Partner of Price Waterhouse & Co. Dr. Bhaskar Banerjee has been nominated by Securities & Exchange Board of India as a Public Representative Director on the Calcutta Stock Exchange from the year 1997-98 which position he is currently adorning.
